The funny thing is that she has this crazy notion that I should do it with her! Funny, right? Well...I thought it was funny and totally not do-able. I told Ryan how she wanted me to do this half marathon with her, and train with her... and he said, "why couldn't you run a half marathon?"
Crap!
Don't tell me that! Because then I start thinking that since I have done hard things this is just another hard thing that I CAN do...and that kind of thinking will get me doing crazy things like a half marathon.
Well, I haven't signed up yet...but I am training with her in the mornings. We run on this fabulous trail in Lehi. We follow the Couch to 5k training, with how much we run and walk, but then follow a half marathon training schedule with how far we go. Basically just repeat the C25K over and over until we've completed our miles.
The last couple of days we've been doing 3 1/2 miles. Walking 3 min, running 5 min, walking 3, running 5, etc...
It's been going really well and I feel so happy about it when I'm done. I feel accomplished.
Running is hard, and when you have 70+ extra lbs on you it's even harder.
But I'm doing it and enjoying it.
Now the getting up at 5:15am to go?...not my favorite part.
